Centro Shalom provides support services for new immigrants with specific focus on ministry to Latino/a homeless and immigrant individuals.

Since 1977 Centro Shalom has worked to relieve the plight of low-income families and individuals in the greater Long Beach Area, many of whom who had recently arrived as Spanish speaking immigrants.  Today, Centro serves a completely multicultural and multi-ethnic community by providing direct services such as food and clothing distribution.  Each day Centro feeds more than 165 people and distributes over 200 pieces of clothing.

Moreover, advocacy and paralegal assistance is offered to the greater public through Centro. Centro assists over 200 clients each month in dealings with public agencies, with domestic and support issues in addition to helping handle over 100 cases on a monthly basis.

Aside from these services, Centro also provide an innovative support service to Latina women through enrollment in the Women's Self-Esteem Classes.
